9 Red Roses Bouquet

Nine red roses with fresh eucalyptus, wrapped in charcoal paper with a fine gold edge. It is the classic romantic bouquet: full enough to feel generous, simple enough to fit any home. Nine roses are often given with the wish that two people stay together for good, and they also make a heartfelt thank-you for the time you have shared. Choose it for an anniversary, a birthday, Valentine's Day or to make an ordinary day feel special. Add a few lines on the note page after checkout and we will write them on the card by hand.

What is actually in it

9 red roses with eucalyptus, wrapped in charcoal paper with a gold edge and tied with a ribbon. Height 30 to 40 cm. Greenery and wrapping can vary slightly with availability.

What it looks like on day four

Roses like these usually stay at their best for about a week, often longer with fresh water and trimmed stems. A few outer petals may show darker tips; that is a trait of the variety, not damage, and they can simply be removed.

We photograph every listing on the bench under daylight. The image you are looking at is the arrangement, not a mood board.

Once the bouquet arrives, remove the wrapping and any ties, strip the lower leaves and cut two to three centimetres off each stem at an angle, ideally under running water. Place it in a clean vase filled halfway with room-temperature water and add the flower food. Keep it away from direct sun, draughts and heaters, change the water every day and trim the stems slightly each time.

The five things that actually matter

1. Recut the stems. Two centimetres off at a 45° angle, under running water if you can. Air locks in the stem are the main cause of early droop.
2. Strip leaves below the waterline. Submerged foliage rots and turns the water bacterial within a day.
3. Change the water, do not just top it up. Every two days, with the sachet we include.
4. Keep them away from fruit. Ripening fruit releases ethylene, which ages cut flowers dramatically faster.
5. Cool and out of direct sun. A radiator or a sunny windowsill will halve the vase life of anything.

Substitution policy

Fresh flowers are an agricultural product. Occasionally the market does not have what we planned for, especially with seasonal stems like peonies. When that happens we do one of two things, and never anything else:

• Message you on WhatsApp before dispatch with the alternative we propose, so you can approve it or cancel for a full refund.
• If there is no alternative you are happy with, you can cancel for a full refund. We will not quietly send something different and hope you do not notice.

Cancellations

Change or cancel free until 18:00 the day before delivery. After that the flowers are cut and conditioned specifically for your order, so cancellation is not possible. This is the perishable-goods exception under distance-selling rules, and it is stated again at checkout before you pay.
