9 Red Roses & Phoenix Plant in Kraft Wrap

What is actually in it

This bouquet is built from exactly nine red roses and a phoenix plant, finished with eucalyptus and dried accents, wrapped in kraft paper with a red thread, standing 30 to 40 cm tall. Some dark markings at the edge of a petal are a natural trait of this rose variety, not a flaw.

What it looks like on day four

Freshly cut roses keep changing after they arrive, expect the outer petals to relax and the blooms to open a little wider over the first two to three days. With daily water changes and a fresh trim, this bouquet typically holds its colour and shape for seven to nine days.

We photograph every listing on the bench under daylight. The image you are looking at is the arrangement, not a mood board.

Unwrap the bouquet as soon as it arrives and remove any string. Trim two to three centimetres off each rose stem at an angle under running water, then strip any leaves that would sit below the waterline. Fill a clean vase with room-temperature water, add the flower food sachet provided, and keep the arrangement away from direct sun, heating vents and draughts. Refresh the water every day, trimming the rose stems by half a centimetre each time, and remove any rose that starts to fade so the rest stay fresher for longer.

The five things that actually matter

1. Recut the stems. Two centimetres off at a 45° angle, under running water if you can. Air locks in the stem are the main cause of early droop.
2. Strip leaves below the waterline. Submerged foliage rots and turns the water bacterial within a day.
3. Change the water, do not just top it up. Every two days, with the sachet we include.
4. Keep them away from fruit. Ripening fruit releases ethylene, which ages cut flowers dramatically faster.
5. Cool and out of direct sun. A radiator or a sunny windowsill will halve the vase life of anything.

Substitution policy

Fresh flowers are an agricultural product. Occasionally the market does not have what we planned for, especially with seasonal stems like peonies. When that happens we do one of two things, and never anything else:

• Substitute a stem of equal or greater value in the same colour family, and email you a photograph before dispatch so you can approve it or cancel for a full refund.
• If no acceptable substitute exists, we call you. We will not quietly send something different and hope you do not notice.

Cancellations

Change or cancel free until 18:00 the day before delivery. After that the flowers are cut and conditioned specifically for your order, so cancellation is not possible — this is the perishable-goods exception under distance-selling rules, and it is stated again at checkout before you pay.
